St. louis Teen talent showcase Competition
In the spirit of fostering the emerging talent in the St. Louis performing arts community, the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation is proud to produce and present an adjudicated competition showcasing the splendidly talented teens of the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Students will compete for college scholarships, prizes and public appearance opportunities.

Judging Information
Students will be viewed by a panel of qualified judges at each round of competition. Judges will select the best talent regardless of category (i.e. dance, instrumental, vocal, drama, comedy and specialty act.) The judging criteria at each level of competition will be:
1. Technical Ability
2. Stage Presence: poise, personality
3. Interpretation
4. Originality
5. Content
Technical Information
The Producers will provide the following equipment and personnel at all rounds of competition:
- PA System
- Microphones (up to 6)
- Mic Stands (up to 6)
- CD/MP3/DVD Playback
- Sound Operator
- Piano
- Accompanist
- General Lighting
Any additional equipment must be provided by the students and at their own expense. Please contact the Foundation in advance to discuss at TeenTalentShowcase@foxpacf.org
There are no fees to participate.

1st Place $5,000 College Scholarship
2nd Place $3,500 College Scholarship
3rd Place $2,000 College Scholarship

Webster University $2,000 Scholarship One scholarship will be awarded to a student selected by the Special Awards committee.

The Nine Network of Public Media
The Nine Network will partner with us to collect video of the students' preparations through the "Our Story" video project and will tape the Final Competition at the Fabulous Fox Theatre on April 27th to air at a later date on KETC. |

Guidelines for the Competition
- Any High School student in the St. Louis Metro area* may enter
- Students may only enter one time either as a solo act or as part of a group
- Entries may consist of one (1) to six (6) students working together on a cohesive presentation
- Students must be enrolled in grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 during the 2011-12 Academic year to participate
- Students may compete in (but are not limited to) the following performance categories: Singer, Actor, Dancer, Musician, Comedian, Magician, Ventriloquist, Circus Skills performer (i.e. Juggler, Clown, Aerialist, etc.)
- Each act must perform a minimum of 3 minutes and must not exceed 5 minutes
- Acts must perform the same material at each round of competition
- Acts should select material that is "family friendly"; content should not contain foul language
- Students must be available on the posted dates for Preliminary, Semi-Final and Final Competitions as well as the rehearsal dates for Finals
* Metro Area is limited to 50 miles from the Gateway Arch in all directions. To qualify for entry, a student's High School (or home address if homeschooled) must fall within a 50-mile radius of the Arch.
