The CAPPIES is a nation-wide High School Theater Critic and Award Program. The Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation helped to establish this program in St. Louis in 2005.
By 2011, the St. Louis CAPPIES program was entirely under the direction of the St. Louis CAPPIES volunteer steering committee. As of 2016 the program is currently on hiatus.
The CAPPIES were supported through grants from the FPACF and additionally supported by The Saint Louis Post Dispatch, Lindenwood University and The Muny. The Saint Louis Post Dispatch published leading high school critic theater reviews online at STLToday.com, Lindenwood University offered annual scholarships to all Saint Louis CAPPIES participants and The Muny subsidized annual gala costs.
